Pipi Storm Ltd was one of the earliest community theatre and community arts companies in NSW in the 1970s and 1980s.

In the early 1980s I was part of the ‘Parks’ team, who developed community based projects in the greater Western Sydney region and conducted tours to isolated schools in regional and outback NSW.

We worked at too many community festivals doing mass activities with kids and families … face painting, juggling, stilt walking and non-competitive games with ‘earth ball’, ‘parachute’ and ‘play sail’… and over those years most of us developed repetitive strain injuries…

‘The Parkies’ developed a fun participatory performance for kids in 1983: ‘Behind the Shed’.
